Rev it up for memorialFDNY motorcycle ride

 
 STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- The Lt. Chuck Margiotta Memorial, Brains, Brawn & Bravery Motorcycle event will be held Sunday, June 7 (rain date June 14) 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Monsignor Farrell High School, 2900 Amboy Rd., Oakwood. The event will be a police escorted motorcycle ride, passing significant landmarks honoring Chuck Margiotta, FDNY, who was killed in the World Trade Center attacks on Sept. 11, 2001. Sign-up for bikers will be between 10 a.m. and noon. Entry fee for all motorcycle riders is $20 which includes a blessing prior to the ride. All non-riders are welcome to join the fun with a donation of $20.

Guest speakers will be Congressman Michael McMahon, State Assemblyman Michael Cusick and Monsignor Joseph Murphy, former pastor of St. Clare's R. C. Church, Great Kills.

Mike Margiotta of Westerleigh is chairman of the event which is being sponsored by local businesses and friends of Chuck Margiotta and family. All proceeds will go toward scholarships for incoming freshmen attending Monsignor Farrell.
